Overview:
Sikkim & Darjeeling are the panoramic sites with surprises of all kinds. A wonderful kaleidoscope of Himalayan culture, scenery, mountain ranges interspersed with passes and an unbelievable array of flora and fauna these mystical lands cherish the enthusiasm of every traveler!
Day 1 New Jalpaiguri Station / Bagdogra Airport – Darjeeling (Approx. 93 kms, 3 hrs drive)
Arrive at New Jalpaiguri station or Bagdogra airport and proceed to Darjeeling. Arrive at Darjeeling and check into your hotel. Evening is at leisure. Overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 2 Darjeeling sightseeing
Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden.
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate (from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 3 Darjeeling – Gangtok (Approx. 98 kms, 4 hrs drive)
After breakfast, checkout from Darjeeling hotel and proceed to Gangtok the capital city of Sikkim. In afternoon, proceed for sightseeing in Gangtok visiting Flower Show, Do Drul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Cottage Industry (closed on Sunday). Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 4 Gangtok Sightseeing
After breakfast start for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 5 Gangtok -New Jalpaiguri Station / Bagdogra Airport (Approx. 125 kms, 5 hrs drive) – Hometown
